To our students,
Learning Undefeated stands with you. We are both outraged and saddened by the senseless death of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others who have died due to similar injustices.
The future you create should be up to you and only you. The color of your skin should not limit the opportunities you are able to create. Longstanding inequalities in our education system actively discourage the success of Black Americans and people of color; as a result, discrimination and systemic racism means that people of color are woefully underrepresented in STEM fields.
Our organization remains steadfastly committed to equitable access to education and lifting students up so that they can reach their true potential. Today, we are refocusing our efforts on creating and amplifying content that promotes the achievements of Black Americans and people of color in the STEM fields. This work includes developing videos and other student resources that feature STEM superstars from historically underrepresented groups; expanding our mentorship program that provides students with STEM mentors from within their local community; deliberately partnering with community-based organizations serving minorities and persons of color; and collecting and sharing resources for teachers that celebrate a diverse set of STEM role models for their students.
We are in this with you for the long run. This fight is ongoing, and we are determined to support students by bringing education directly to those who have not been given all the advantages or support that they deserve. Underserved does not mean undeserving; we see you, we hear you, and we support you.
