Eighth grade math students in Bartlett, Texas got to experiment with engineering design onboard Learning Undefeated’s Mobile eXploration Lab (MXLab), part of the Texas Mobile STEM Labs program run by nonprofit organization Learning Undefeated. In this design challenge, students learned about space capsules and why they are used instead of shuttles then designed a space capsule that can protect the astronauts inside.

“We like seeing our kids’ faces light up when they learn about engineering and when they learn that anyone can be an engineer.” – Cristina Cornejo, Texas Regional Director, Learning Undefeated
“For them to come on here and be able to do the engineering design challenges that they are, and then we introduce STEM careers to them, I think that’s a plus.” – Desurae Matthews, Education Program Lead, Learning Undefeated
