Education that Moves
Now Available for the 2024/25 School Year
Learning Undefeated and the Port of Corpus Christi have partnered to bring a totally new kind of STEM learning experience to schools in Nueces and San Patricio Counties in Texas.
The Port of Corpus Christi PORT-Able Learning Lab is a mobile shipping container that introduces students to STEM concepts using immersive reality, light, sound, and touchscreen walls. This portable learning experience travels directly to the school parking lot, where students explore science, technology, engineering, and math through immersive reality and collaborative gameplay.
During the ’24-’25 school year, high school students will have the opportunity to take on the role of an intern in the Port of Corpus Christi and assist in the construction of a dock that takes into account the budget, material strength, environmental concerns, and wildlife in the area through interactive gameplay and team collaboration. To delve deeper into what they learned throughout their time doing our Breakout Box: Environmental Mission, students can continue learning in the classroom through a newly developed engineering design challenge where they will have the opportunity to develop a bubble curtain, one of the environmental mitigation tools that they learn about during the onboard experience.
Our elementary and middle school students will embark on an immersive adventure learning about the Port of Corpus Christi. Through progressive gameplay, students will learn about the vital role the Port of Corpus Christi plays in our economy and as an environmental leader. They will have the opportunity to complete puzzles, answer trivia, and be introduced to augmented reality. We are also offering new and exciting curriculum for all grade levels.
