This fall, Learning Undefeated will provide innovative and experiential STEM education programs to K-12 students across the U.S. Our fleet of six mobile STEM labs will be on the road visiting students and teachers across Texas, Louisiana, and Maryland during the 2022/23 school year. Here’s a roadmap for where you can find our mobile STEM labs over the next few months.
Texas Programming Fall 2022
The Port of Corpus Christi PORT-Able Learning Lab
The brand new Port of Corpus Christi PORT-Able Learning Lab will bring interactive STEM learning experiences to schools in Nueces and San Patricio counties in Texas. Thanks to a new partnership with the Port of Corpus Christi, the mobile shipping container will introduce K-12 students to STEM concepts using immersive reality, light, sound, and touchscreen walls. TEA-approved engineering design activities that will be available at the beginning of the school year include Jack and the Beanstalk, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, Circuits, and more. If you are interested in booking the Port of Corpus Christi PORT-Able Learning Lab for fall 2022 school visits, please fill out a request form here.
Texas Mobile STEM Lab
Back by popular demand, the Texas Mobile STEM Lab will travel to schools in 20 regions across the state during the 2022/23 school year. Onboard the Texas Mobile STEM Lab, K-8 students will solve engineering design challenges and work cooperatively to design a product or process using model STEM activities developed by Learning Undefeated, with support from the Texas Education Agency (TEA). All activities integrate content knowledge aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
In addition to mobile lab visits, Learning Undefeated’s education team will be offering professional development opportunities for teachers in the state. Sessions will include an orientation on how to teach TEA-approved and TEKS-aligned engineering design challenges in classrooms this school year. Sessions include:
- September 6, 6:30-7:30pm CT: Grades K-2
- September 7, 6:30-7:30pm CT: Grades 3-5
- September 8, 6:30-7:30pm CT: Grades 6-8
Teachers can register for the free professional development sessions by completing this form.
Louisiana Programming Fall 2022
Orange Drop Anywhere Lab
For the second consecutive year, Learning Undefeated’s Drop Anywhere Lab will bring game-based and hands-on experiential learning to schools in Louisiana. Thanks to a partnership with CenterPoint Energy, K-8 students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of engineering design activities, including Learning Undefeated’s immersive chemistry experience for middle school students and agriculture activity for elementary school students. If you are interested in being the first to hear about mobile STEM lab programs coming to Louisiana, we encourage you to sign up for our Teacher Priority Network.
Maryland Programming Fall 2022
Explorer Lab, Blue Drop Anywhere Lab, and Mobile eXploration Lab (MXLab)
Three of Learning Undefeated’s mobile labs will be on the road in Maryland bringing one-of-a-kind STEM experiences directly to school parking lots. Onboard the Explorer Lab, middle school students will take a five-minute trip across the solar system, visiting each planet through a jaw-dropping 360-video experience before landing on Mars. Students will then use state-of-the-art tablets to design their own rovers to help them think and problem solve like an engineer.
During Drop Anywhere Lab visits in Maryland, grade 7 students will compete in the Body Systems Breakout Box. Breakout Box is a whole new way to experience STEM. The immersive learning environment combines collaboration with challenging adventures. Each Breakout Box module is designed to immerse participants in new worlds that feel like Hollywood blockbusters. A successful breakout requires students to uncover hidden clues, crack tough codes, and solve challenging puzzles. Students will use the practices of science & engineering to break out of the Body Systems Breakout Box: Analyzing and interpreting data, using mathematics, using computational thinking, creative problem solving, and communicating with teammates
Onboard the MXLab, high school students will have the opportunity to complete biology, environmental science, genetics, chemistry activities. We will also be introducing three new high school activities later this year, stay tuned to learn more! Learning Undefeated wouldn’t be able to provide these life-changing experiences to students without support from our partners. Thank you, Northrop Grumman, AstraZeneca, Novavax, and the Department of Defense for helping us bring STEM education to Maryland students this upcoming school year.
On behalf of the entire team at Learning Undefeated, we look forward to another successful year of bringing experiential and deep-impact learning experiences to students and teachers. We encourage you to sign up for our Teacher Priority Network to stay updated on the latest programs and mobile lab visits happening this school year.
