The Young Science Explorer Program (YSEP) is a one-week summer workshop exploring science in Maryland geared towards rising seventh and eighth grade students in Fall 2011.
MedImmune, Human Genome Sciences, Montgomery College, Towson University and MdBio Foundation are excited to provide an opportunity for middle school students to experience laboratory science and related careers. Students will be engaged in a weeklong project using various cutting-edge bioscience techniques. In addition to intensive hands on laboratory work taught by experienced instructors, students will also participate in several field trips to local Maryland bioscience organizations, be engaged in science career exploration, and meet with several local scientists.
Thanks to the generous support of MedImmune and HGS, all accepted students will be awarded a scholarship that covers the cost of the Program (normally $350). All materials, lunch and snacks are included. Applications are due April 1. Accepted participants will be notified by April 22. Please indicate which session of the program you are applying to (you may only attend one session).
