Teacher Happy Hour! Foundations of Distance Learning with No-Holds Barred Idea Share

Teachers, we know you’re moving at the speed of light to bring online learning to your students. Bring a glass of wine and spend half an hour with Learning Undefeated’s Instructional Designer to learn about the foundational concepts behind distance learning. We will cover basic theory and practice, including organizing online content for distance learning, ways to stay engaged with your class, student assessment, and thinking about how to evaluate online resources.Then, network & share ideas with other teachers to discuss topics such as adapting to the new normal of online learning, dealing with 2/4/7 demands from parents, engaging students without using screens, strategies and resources for finishing the school year, building authentic connections to students, and get answers to questions about online learning you may be embarrassed to ask.
About our presenter: James Hong is Learning Undefeated’s Instructional Designer, who works with our educators and subject matter experts to create diverse and exciting lesson plans that align with national, state, and local education standards and meet classroom goals. James received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and is currently wrapping up his Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Virginia, where he is completing a dissertation on integrated STEM activities in upper elementary science classrooms.
