Designing Student-Led Investigations in the Classroom
April 12, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
FreeDesigning Student-Led Investigations in the Classroom (Professional Development Workshop for Educators)
Having students plan and carry out investigations is a key part of the Next Generation Science Standards, but this practice is often challenging for both teachers and students. However, allowing students the autonomy to develop the steps of an investigation can lead to a deeper understanding of science and engineering practices and increased confidence in learning science. We’ll address strategies for supporting students in planning and carrying out investigations and participants will walk away with useful tools to support and scaffold their students in this process.
