Sulphur, LA (KPLC) – A mobile STEM lab in action! CITGO brought over the “Drop Anywhere Lab” to LeBlanc Middle School Wednesday morning.
The big orange shipping container, which travels from school to school, houses a space for learning with interactive videos and colorful lights. The program takes place right in the parking so students don’t have to go far for this hands-on experience that introduces them to STEM concepts and in-demand STEM careers located within the community.
“I like the screens can change colors and they will like, it will tell you to turn around and you see something different. Or if you like just turn a 360 view then you see different things all over. It’s really fun,” LeBlanc 8th grader Karter Sonnier said.
Sonnier said the program allowed him to think differently about whether a chemical change or a physical change took place in the lab.
