Mobile laboratories re-engage students with learning, making them an excellent use of ESSER funds. Substantially less expensive than brick-and-mortar labs, mobile labs offer a blend of career and skills education, providing flexible in-classroom resources that empower teachers and serve many schools with just one investment.

Learning Undefeated and CITGO partner to bring Mobile STEM Laboratory to Calcasieu Parish Schools

The centerpiece of the new program is Learning Undefeated’s Drop Anywhere Lab, a traveling science laboratory housed in a shipping container, which travels to a new school each week providing a field trip experience right in the school parking lot. The program engages local students with STEM concepts through hands-on projects on board the mobile lab and introduces them to in-demand STEM careers located right in their own backyard.

High Point, Texas Elementary Experiences Mobile Learning

Over 400 kindergarten through fifth grade students at High Point Elementary were able to board the Texas Mobile STEM Lab where they are able to work cooperatively with other students to design a STEM project activity developed by Learning Undefeated, with support from the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Students were read the story of the Three Little Pigs told from the perspective of the “Big Bad Wolf.” Instructors Katie Askelson and Desurae Matthews challenged the students to design and construct a home that could withstand the powerful sneeze of the wolf.
